SB2476 RELATING TO DENTAL HYGIENISTS has passed in the Legislature and is awaiting Governor Josh Green's signature.
Title: Dental Hygienists; Dental Sealants; School-Based Health Program
Description: Authorizes licensed dental hygienists to perform preventive dental sealant screenings and apply dental sealants on individuals, under certain conditions, in a school-based oral health program. (CD1)
This will allow hygienists in a Community setting ONLY to screen and apply sealants in a school setting under general supervision (dentist needs to be available by phone, not in person). This allows for dental hygienists to provide increased oral health access care to our keiki o ka aina!
